Builder-Friendly Members Needed on the Florida Housing Finance Corporation Board of Directors

FHBA is calling all interested residential contractor members to apply for the open seat on the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (Florida Housing) Board of Directors, which will be appointed by Governor Rick Scott. We need builder-friendly applicants who will continue to promote the mission and purpose of Florida Housing while offering a homebuilder’s perspective.

FHBA may officially support multiple members who apply for the Governors consideration, however only one seat is currently open for Residential Contractors.

To apply and be supported by the FHBA, please forward a copy of your completed gubernatorial appointment application by the close of business on September 16th to Rusty Payton, FHBA CEO/Chief Lobbyist, at rpayton@fhba.com, or Douglas Buck, Director of Governmental Affairs, at dbuck@fhba.com. The Florida Housing Finance Corporation (Florida Housing) was created by the state Legislature more than 30 years ago to assist in providing a range of affordable housing opportunities for residents that help make Florida communities great places in which to live, work and do business.

Florida Housing’s Board of Directors consists of the Executive Director (or designee) of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, who is an ex officio voting member, and eight additional members who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. The Board members serve four-year terms and are selected as representatives of various housing industry groups.
