Collier Building Industry Association Honors 2017 Parade of Homes Winners at Awards Breakfast

More than 30 overall excellence in construction design and merit awards were presented at the Collier Building Industry Association’s (CBIA) 2017 Multi-Site Parade of Homes (POH) awards breakfast held Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Hilton Naples.

According to 2017 CBIA Multi-site POH committee chairperson Jo Carter of The Interior Design Broker, 130 homebuilders, architects and interior designers attended the annual event to recognize outstanding building construction and design excellence peer-judged by a panel of industry experts from across the state of Florida.

The six-day event, spanning Friday through Sunday, March 10-12 and March 17-19 from 10 am until 5 pm, features 80 fully decorated model homes constructed by 21 of Southwest Florida’s premier homebuilders located throughout 34 different neighborhoods. “Each model home entry was considered based upon the price of the model, lot and construction upgrades, but did not include interior design and furnishings when evaluating the home,” explains CBIA Executive Vice President Kathy Curatolo.  Individual judging sheets sanctioned five sections (exterior, interior, livability/workmanship, floor plan and outstanding feature) with suggested scoring for each section on a scale of (1) Poor to (5) Excellent. Each section included key features to consider such as overall architectural design, outdoor planning (landscaping, decks, pool, lighting), and notable special design features.
