FHBA Strives to Meet Your Continuing Education Needs

FHBA is a strong advocate of professionalism and is committed to providing quality education for its members. Courses enhance both technical ability and business competency contributing to both business and personal success, plus afford attendees opportunities to earn continuing education units. Through joint ventures with our local home building associations, FHBA offers these courses statewide.

Programs are as diverse as the needs of participants and include professional designation programs in business and project management, superintendent training, sales and marketing, and remodeling. Earning a professional designation is recognized as a huge achievement and represents advanced knowledge and skills, providing a mark of distinction above competitors.

To ensure the industry has a future pool of skilled laborers, the FHBA Foundation provides scholarships for high school students and young adults to pursue careers in the construction industry. Request information.

FHBA conferences provide opportunities for members to meet their peers face to face and to share experiences for improving performance and achieving their goals.

Through various partnerships, FHBA offers an array of continuing education and professional development courses online, many of which are approved by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board to satisfy license requirements for Florida contractors.

We are very pleased to announce a new strategic alliance with BuildIQ, a national online training company dedicated to the housing industry. FHBA’s ‘Learning Series’ Library
Offers Quality Skills Training Online

We are pleased to make available the FHBA “Learning Series” – comprehensive online classes to improve your technology, leadership and communication skills. With each course, you’ll receive both a step-by-step training CD and an Online Expert Advisor CD to enhance you understanding of the information presented. Every 90-days a new series will be brought online. In our first featured series, choose QuickBooks Pro®, any of the MicroSoft® Office Suite products (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access or PowerPoint), or one of the many courses from the Leadership Series, including “How to Coach an Effective Team,” “How to Handle Conflict & Confrontation” and “Powerful Communication Skills.” [more]

Online learning is designed for busy professionals who can’t take time away from their businesses and who prefer to take the courses at their own pace. Classes are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Because the courses can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection, you don’t need to spend money for travel or hotel accommodations – and your business doesn’t suffer from your absence while you meet license requirements.

Online education is the answer to learning when you want it. FHBA Online Education offers "just-in-time" learning for those who have missed the last public class and can’t wait another six months for it to be offered again in their area. You get the information you need with the flexibility you want. Samples of the courses can viewed on the Catalog Page.
