Associate Members / Trade Council
Audit Committee
There shall be an Audit Committee to assist the Board of Directors in fulfilling its financial oversight responsibilities. It shall be comprised of five members of the Board of Directors.
Aurora Awards Advisory Council
The Aurora Awards Committee is responsible for implementing the Aurora Awards program within the budget adopted by the FHBA Board of Directors.
Building Codes Committee
The Codes and Standards Committee is responsible for developing, recommending to the Board of Directors, and implementing the association’s policies as they relate to Florida’s building, fire and energy codes.
The President appoints the chair, who shall be a builder member.
The Board, upon recommendation of the Executive committee shall approve the remaining members of the committee.
Bylaws / Resolutions Committee
The purpose of the Bylaws and Resolutions Committee is to keep the FHBA bylaws current.
The decisions and recommendations of the Bylaws and Resolutions Committee are of an advisory nature only and are not binding on FHBA or the FHBA Board of Directors.
The Committee is responsible for keeping the Association Bylaws current; reviewing all proposed Bylaws/Articles of Incorporation amendments, and Board resolutions and making recommendations on all Bylaws-related issues to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
The Committee assures that all proposed Bylaws changes, resolutions and recommendations are clearly worded, properly structured and not in violation.
Compensation Committee
The Compensation Committee provides leadership direction and broad oversight for the Association’s compensation activities and shall act in an advisory capacity to the Finance Committee.
The Compensation Committee consists of the President, the Immediate Past President, and the Finance Committee members appointed by the Treasurer.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee exists to provide leadership direction and oversight for the Association’s finances.
The Finance Committee is responsible for studying the finances of the Florida Home Builders Association, reviewing the annual budget and making recommendations of financial policy to the Executive Committee.
The decisions and recommendations of the Finance Committee are of an advisory nature only and are not binding on FHBA or the FHBA Board of Directors. All actions of the Finance Committee must be ratified by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

Governmental Affairs Committee
The Governmental Affairs Steering Committee is responsible for developing, recommending (to the Board of Directors) and implementing the Association’s legislative policies.
During the legislative session and key interim committee weeks, the Governmental Affairs Committee meets via conference call to receive reports from FHBA lobbyists and provide direction when needed.
The legislative agenda and Governmental Affairs Policies are recommended by the Governmental Affairs Committee and adopted by the FHBA Board of Directors to serve as the framework for specific legislative positions.
Between meetings of the Board, decisions to support, support with amendment or oppose legislation shall be made by the President of the FHBA with majority vote of the Senior Officers where practical.
The Board of Directors of the Florida Home Builders Association are solely responsible for setting the policy of the Association.
Hall of Fame Board of Governors
The Florida Housing Hall of Fame Board of Governors oversees all aspects of the Florida Housing Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame Board of Governors solicits candidates for the FHBA Hall of Fame, elects members to the Hall of Fame and oversees the induction ceremony.
The Board of Governor’s exists of nine Hall of Fame Members serving a six-year term.
Six Governors are builder members and three associate members.
Legal Action Committee
Local Presidents Council
The Local Presidents Council will serve in an advisory role to the Board of Directors on all issues affecting the Association and the industry.
The Council elects its Chair and Vice Chair at the Spring Legislative Conference.
The Chair must be currently serving as a Local President. The Vice Chair must currently be a Builder Vice President, President-elect, or equivalent officeholder of a Local Association.
The Council is comprised of the duly-elected Presidents from each Affiliated Local Association.
Membership Council
The Membership Committee serves as a resource to Affiliated Local Associations in recruiting and retaining members.
The Committee should interact with the Membership Committee and staff of NAHB, as appropriate.
The decisions and recommendations of the Membership Committee are of an advisory nature only and are not binding on FHBA or the FHBA Board of Directors. All actions of the Membership Committee must be ratified by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
The Committee will be comprised of a Chair appointed by the President, a Vice Chair appointed by the President on the recommendation of the First Vice President/Treasurer, and one designated representative from each Affiliated Local Association in Florida.
Nominating Committee
Non-Dues Committee
The Committee is charged with researching and recommending to the Board of Directors non-dues revenue sources within the guidelines for the establishment of new programs.
The Non-Dues Revenue Committee is comprised of eight members. The Chair is appointed by the President and the Vice Chair is appointed by the First Vice President/Treasurer.
Past Chairs Council
The Past Presidents and Past Second Vice Presidents Council shall serve in an advisory role to the Board of Directors on issues affecting the Association and the industry.
The Chair shall be the Immediate Past President of FHBA and the Vice Chair shall be the Immediate Past Second Vice President of FHBA, unless those individuals designate other Past Presidents or Past Second Vice Presidents to assume the assignments.
The Council is comprised of all living Past Presidents and Past Second Vice Presidents of FHBA.

Political Action Committee
The Florida Home Builders PAC (FHBPAC) hammers home the financial support necessary to elect pro-builder candidates who share our ideas and understand that building is a vital part of Florida’s economy.
SEBC Advisory Council
The primary function of the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) Committee is to provide non-dues revenue to the Florida Home Builders Association and increase the value of FHBA membership through a successful SEBC.
At the SEBC, housing professionals have the opportunity to foster business-to-business networking, continue their professional development and fulfill their continuing education requirements.
The SEBC Committee should foster and encourage increased awareness among housing professionals, manufacturers and trades, within our 12-State Southeastern and Caribbean region, that the SEBC is a one-stop conference and exposition offering industry knowledge, innovations in products/services and business solutions.
The Committee will be comprised of a Chair appointed by the President, a Vice Chair appointed by the President on the recommendation of the First Vice President/Treasurer, and 10 members serving three-year terms, four appointed by the President, three by the First Vice President/Treasurer and three by the Second Vice President.

Built to help the next generation of industry leaders connect, grow, and get involved across the FHBA federation—through networking, professional development, and meaningful association engagement.
Why the YBPC exists
In response to the workforce shortage, the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) established the Young Building Professionals Council (YBPC). Its purpose is to attract and retain young talent in the construction industry and related trades, and to get involved in every level of the association federation.
