Key legislators have called on FHBA to craft stronger solutions to combat construction fraud and unlicensed activity. The CILB is the regulatory agency overseeing construction licensing yet is often unable to effectively discipline bad actors. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation is working with the FHBA to develop proposals for better policing both unlicensed activity and fraud by licensed contractors.
FHBA Position: Support legislators in crafting policies that strengthen the ability to discipline both unlicensed and licensed bad actors, while ensuring that reputable professionals are not unfairly prosecuted.
