This past Saturday evening, FHBA leadership was honored to represent the industry at the Republican Party Victory Dinner. Representing the FHBA were President-Elect, Bill Truex, 3rd Vice President, Michael Bourré, Governmental Affairs Chairman, Frank Severino, Past President Ron Lieberman (who won the FHB PAC 1,000 Club Raffle), and CEO, Rusty Payton.
Following a VIP Reception, where FHBA leadership had pictures taken with Republican Gubernatorial Candidate, Ron DeSantis, and visited with other key leaders, we were all excited to see the FHBA logo prominently displayed as we entered the ballroom for dinner with our table guest, future Speaker of the Florida House, Rep. Chris Sprowls. As we made our rounds glad-handing, we were encouraged as nearly every key republican thanked us for all our help during this election cycle.
Who is responsible for providing the resources enhancing our visibility? You are! As a member of FHBA, $10 of your dues goes to the FHB PAC. Over 80 of you are members of the FHB PAC 1,000 Club. The Volume Builder’s council provided additional support. Many of you participated in the FHB PAC Silent Auction at SEBC and contributed in other venues. Our locals supported our efforts and provided the dues that fund operations and the PAC. Thank you all!
Now, we must close it out. When you vote, remember to check out who has been supported by your local HBA, FBA, and NAHB. We were pleased to hear all FHB PAC supported candidates address the group at dinner. As each painted the contrast between them and their opponent, it became clear why FHBA PAC choose to endorse Matt Caldwell for Agriculture Commission, Jimmy Patronis for Chief Financial Officers, Ashley Moody for Attorney General, and Ron DeSantis for Governor. These four believe in maintaining opportunities for economic prosperity by maintaining a favorable business environment.
We would be remiss if we did not congratulate Rep. Blaise Ingoglia. As Chairman of the State Republican Party, this FHBA member put together and incredible event. Congratulations Chairman Ingoglia!
