Three Inducted Into Florida Housing Hall of Fame, Florida Home Builders Association

For Immediate Release:

The Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) announces its 2019 Florida Housing Hall of Fame inductees, a recognition awarded by over 8,000 FHBA members across the state. Selected by the FHBA Florida Housing Hall of Fame Board of Governors, this honor is given to men and women who have made significant and lasting contributions to housing in Florida, the building industry, and the FHBA.

The recognition, which is a respected tradition for twenty-six years, was presented to three distinctive members on Thursday, October 3, 2019, during the FHBA Fall Leadership Conference at the Casa Monica Resort and Spa, St. Augustine, Florida.

John C. Fowke
Actively engaged in the housing industry since the 1970, Chuckโ€™s dedication has only grown by being seated as NAHBโ€™s Chairman of the Board in 2021.ย  His knowledge, dedication and leadership have granted the industry many successes on issues of Hometown Democracy, Chinese Drywall, Property Appraisers, Residential Sprinklers and Waters of the United States.ย  With humor and zeal, he has fought the toughest of battles so members can continue to work and stay profitable in their industry.

Suzanne Graham
With unyielding energy and enthusiasm, Suzanne has spent over 25 years building her company and framing the industry for success by advocating and forming relationships locally and around the state. As FHBAโ€™s second female President, and never shy to tackle an issue, she fought the good fight to ensure FHBA was housed and staffed for stability and success.ย  Her steadfast commitment to the industry, mentoring of the next generation and off-the-chart energy is legendary.

Bill Smock
Native Floridian Bill Smock has spent his life serving his county, community, industry and state.ย  His honorable record of service in the Marines, his years of service with his local HBA and community, his tireless efforts serving as a Senior Officer of the Florida Home Builders Association and his vision and determination to see the return of a vibrant Southeast Building Conference, where he is still fondly referred to as Mayor of SEBCville, proves his service is unwavering and lasting.

โ€œEach of these individuals positively impacted not only the Association, but its individual members, the home building industry as a whole, and Florida consumers.โ€ said Rusty Payton, FHBA CEO/Chief Lobbyist. โ€œWe are proud to recognize these amazing individuals for their exceptional career accomplishments.โ€

Established in 1947, the Florida Home Builders Association is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Florida’s local/regional homebuilder associations. FHBA, along with its affiliates, work to create the best possible economic and regulatory environment for members to succeed.
