VBIA Member Highlight

Since joining VBIA less than four years ago, Jay Bryant, President of HydroShield SunCoast, has been selflessly engaged in the home builder’s federation at all levels and maintains nearly 100% attendance at meetings and conferences.

From his first day as a member, he has sought out opportunities to serve the industry, quickly landing himself on the VBIA Government Affairs Committee which he now Chairs.

Shortly thereafter, he was selected from among leadership to serve on the VBIA Board of Directors, where he brought many years of military and executive leadership experience into the association’s board room. His involvement on the board and executive committee was invaluable as the organization navigated through extremely difficult times in 2018.

Upon assuming the role as the VBIA Associate Vice President, he convinced the Board of Directors to establish a standing Associate Trades Committee, which is revolutionizing how the associate members get value from their membership, and how we promote members doing business with members.

He passionately pursues legislation and programs to combat workforce shortages and the stigmatism of the trades as a career path.  As he frequently says, “we need to get hammers in hands”; it is this phrase that he says separates the wheat from the chaff with existing and proposed workforce programs.

Jay was also selected by the Board of Directors to represent VBIA as an FHBA Director and NAHB alternate Director, and he has maintained a 100% attendance record at both levels, and serves as FHBA Area III Associate Vice President and Chairs the State’s Associate-Trades Council.
