The Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) Director of Governmental Affairs Director, Douglas Buck will conclude his long-term, and successful, commitment to the organization in the form of retirement on December 31, 2019.
FHBA welcomes Dane Bennett, formally of WellCare Health Plans, Tampa, FL to serve as Interim Director of Governmental Affairs; transitioning into the Director position after Buck’s departure.
Bennett, who comes to FHBA as the previous Governmental Affairs and Public Policy Analyst for WellCare Health Plans, offers a strong resume of legislative leadership. His work included analyses and amendments on legislation covering prior authorization protocols and turnaround times, Pharmacy Benefit Manager disclosures, fail first exemptions, as well as identifying financial barriers to entry in multiple markets.
His earlier ties to governmental assignments include a master’s degree in Public Administration from Florida State University, where Bennett went on to the Capitol; working as a Legislative Aide to Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto for four legislative sessions.
Bennett is an Amphibious Assault Vehicle Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, and married to Amanda Bennett.
