Do You Use Lumber to Build?

Then we urge you tell members of U.S. House to sign a bipartisan letter to the Administration urging them to restart negotiations with Canada.

On Wednesday, May 23, we hit the fourth all-time high for lumber prices—we have set a new record every single week for the last four weeks. These recent lumber costs hikes are adding more than $7,300 to the price of a new home.

We have never produced enough lumber in this country to meet our domestic consumption. As a result, we depend on imported lumber, particularly from Canada. The U.S. imposed tariffs on Canadian lumber imports last year. And prices haven’t stopped going up since.

That is why it is so urgent the White House get back to the negotiating table with Canada. Click here to send a letter to the U.S. House now.
