FHBA Past President, Bill Truex, Meets With White House

This week, Charlotte County announced that FHBA Immediate Past President and Charlotte County Commissioner, Bill Truex, participated in the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs briefing call on immigration modernization and infrastructure investment.

This call previewed forthcoming Trump Administration policy proposals on border security and merit-based legal immigration system. Truex is currently the chair of the National Association of Counties Immigration Reform Task Force, which provides a forum for county officials to discuss immigration and its impact on local government.

โ€œIโ€™ve been honored to work on this complex issue with my NACo peers and the White House,โ€ Truex said. โ€œWe need to develop an immigration system that provides security while enabling safe, legal immigration to ensure we can continue to develop a diverse workforce to keep our counties growing.โ€zzzz
