Port Charlotte Local, Rick Ilmberger, Installed as 45th Second Vice President of the Florida Home Builders Association

The Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) installed Rick Ilmberger as its 45th Second Vice President on Saturday, October 6, 2018, during the FHBA Fall Leadership Conference at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida. Ilmberger is President of Suncoast Glass and Mirror, Inc., in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Ilmberger’s passion is evident in his relationships and involvement with the Charlotte DeSoto Building Industry Association (CDBIA), where in eight years he has served as Membership Chair and held a seat on the Board of Directors as Associate Vice President and Secretary. Never wavering from doing his best earned him the honors of Member of the Year, Subcontractor of the Year, and the President’s Award.

“Rick was one of the first people I met when I joined the CDBIA,” says John Kapper of Kapper Contracting and CDBIA 2018 President. “His dedication to the building industry is infectious and igniting”

Tom Thornberry of Charlotte Plumbing, and 2004 FHBA 2nd Vice President comments, “When Rick first joined the CDBIA, I knew he would grow to be a leader in our local and state building industry. His passion and dedication for the health of our associations combined with his dedication to grow future builders will bring our state association to the next level.”

Ilmberger’s natural drive pushed him in the direction of leadership within the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA). And, in three years’ time, he accomplished the roles of Associate Member/Trades Council Chair, Area Vice President Council Vice Chair, Executive Committee member, and Board of Directors member. Each position guiding him to an overall leadership role of 3rd Vice President to, now, 2nd Vice President – the highest seat held by a FHBA Associate Member.

“Rick is staunch in the belief that relationships are key to a successful industry,” says Rusty Payton, FHBA CEO and Chief Lobbyist. “He is a passionate and dedicated leader, and we are proud to have him serve as FHBA’s Second Vice President.”

Other FHBA Officers are: President; William “Bill” Truex; First Vice President, Michael Bourre’; Secretary, Scott McCracken; Third Vice President, Natasha Cartagena Spencer; Immediate Past President, Gregory Matovina; and Immediate Past Second Vice President, Shelley Stewart.

Established in 1949, the Florida Home Builders Association is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Florida’s local/regional homebuilder associations. FHBA, along with its affiliates, work to create the best possible economic and regulatory environment for members to succeed.
