Melbourne Local, Natasha Cartagena Spencer, Installed as Second Vice President of the Florida Home Builders Association

The Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) installed Natasha Cartagena Spencer as its Second Vice President on Saturday, October 4, 2019, during the FHBA Fall Leadership Conference at the Casa Monica Resort and Spa in St. Augustine, Florida. Spencer is Senior Vice President of Shelter Mortgage in Melbourne, Florida.

Spencer has been a member of the Home Building and Construction Association of Brevard (HBCA of Brevard), FHBA, and National Association of Home Builders for over 17 years serving in various leadership positions.

Within HBCA of Brevard, Spencer has served in many capacities, including Leadership Chair from 2012, starting as Treasurer. In addition, she has served on the Executive Board and currently holds the Vice President seat.

โ€œWe are fortunate to have Natasha as an active member of our association and Board of Directors,โ€ states HBCA of Brevard President, Michelle Masline. โ€œShe works tirelessly to promote the home building industry and is an inspiration to other members and the community at large. During my Presidency at the HBCA, Natasha has been a true mentor to me. I canโ€™t thank her enough for her support and leadership.โ€

Her leadership with FHBA includes service as a member to its Board, Finance Committee, Executive Committee, and Non-Dues Revenue Committee. Spencer, in her unwavering commitment to the association, surpassed her role as member to become FHBAโ€™s Third Vice President in 2018.

“Natasha is a great example for women in any career path. She is strong and approaches life with confidence and strength,โ€ says HBCA of Brevard Executive Officer, Suzanne Cummins.

She continues to give back to the community through volunteering her time and talents to Junior Achievement and chaired the Habitat for Humanity Hard Hats Gala in 2013. She has also served as President of the Future Builders of America.

โ€œNatasha is business-minded and has a proven record of success in a declining market,โ€ said Rusty Payton, FHBA CEO/Chief Lobbyist. โ€œShe understands the importance of builders and trade partners working together to achieve common goals for the organization. She will take FHBA where it needs to be.โ€
